## How pricing works

- Bids are whole US dollars: $1 minimum and $250,000 maximum in a single payment.
- Taking a seat costs $1 more than the total that seat already holds.
- Bidding less than that is still accepted; it lands at whatever seat the amount reaches.
- Bids accumulate. Raising an existing listing costs only the difference between its running total and the seat it wants.
- Equal totals keep the order they arrived in — matching a total does not pass it.
- Stripe adjustments and policy review can affect public visibility; being outbid alone does not undo a settled contribution.

## Placing a bid

Bidding happens at https://inboxbid.lol/ — enter the newsletter's URL, choose an
amount, and pay through Stripe. The seat is applied when the payment settles.

After the payment clears, the site reads the newsletter's own page and writes its
name, description and category.

The first payment for a listing mints a claim key, shown once. That key is what
proves the listing is yours later, and it is what makes raising it cost only the
difference rather than the full amount again.
